The Story of The Two Goats
Once upon a time, in a peaceful village, there lived two goats – one black and one white. They lived on opposite sides of a river and were both known for their confidence and pride.
One afternoon, the black goat started crossing a narrow wooden bridge that connected the two sides of the river. At the same time, the white goat stepped onto the bridge from the other side. The bridge was so narrow that only one goat could cross at a time.
They walked toward each other and met in the middle.
The Stubborn Argument
The black goat said firmly,
“Step back and let me pass first. I was here before you.”
The white goat snapped back,
“No! You move back. I came first and I’m not moving.”
Neither goat wanted to give way. Both stood there, blocking each other’s path, and the rushing sound of the river made the moment even more tense.
The Unwanted Outcome
As neither goat agreed to move, they began pushing each other with their horns. The narrow bridge wobbled, and suddenly, both goats lost their balance. They fell into the river below with a splash!
Luckily, the water was shallow, and they both swam to safety. But they were soaked, embarrassed, and had wasted precious time.
The Lesson They Learned
Standing on opposite sides of the river again, the goats realized how foolish they had been. If one of them had simply stepped back, both could have crossed safely without getting wet. From that day onward, they decided to be more patient and understanding.
Moral of The Two Goats Story
Stubbornness can lead to trouble. It’s better to compromise and find a peaceful solution than to fight over who is right.
