The Lion and the Clever Rabbit – A Story About Intelligence

Once upon a time, in a dense forest, there lived a mighty lion who was the king of all animals. He was strong and feared by every creature. Every day, the lion hunted many animals, and soon, the animals grew worried. They decided to make peace and promised to send one animal daily as the lion’s meal.

For a few days, everything went smoothly. But one day, it was the turn of a clever rabbit. The rabbit was very smart and thought,
“If I go like this, I will be eaten. I must find a way to save everyone.”

The Clever Plan

The rabbit walked slowly and reached the lion very late. The lion was furious!
“Why are you so late?!” roared the lion.

The rabbit calmly replied, “Oh mighty king, I was on time, but another lion stopped me. He claimed to be the true king of the jungle!”

The lion was shocked and roared, “What? Another lion in my forest? Show me where he is!”

The Trap

The rabbit led the lion to a deep well and said, “He lives here, my lord.”

The lion peered into the well and saw his own reflection in the water. Thinking it was another lion, he roared fiercely, and the echo roared back! Furious, he jumped into the well to fight his “enemy” and drowned.

The clever rabbit returned to the other animals and shared the news. The forest celebrated their freedom from the cruel lion.

Moral of the Story:
