🐢 The Tortoise and the Eagle – A Lesson on Being Yourself

Short Moral Story for Kids
Ideal for ages 4–10 | Printable PDF included!

📖 Once upon a time…

There lived a tortoise who often watched birds fly high above. He especially admired the mighty eagle that soared through the sky with such grace.

“How lucky the eagle is!” sighed the tortoise. “If only I could fly like that.”

Day after day, the tortoise dreamed of flying. He approached the eagle and begged, “Please teach me how to fly!”

The eagle chuckled, “But you are made for walking slowly and safely on the ground. Flying is not for everyone.”

Still, the tortoise pleaded. Reluctantly, the eagle agreed.

🦅 The Big Attempt

The eagle held the tortoise in his claws and soared high into the sky. The tortoise was thrilled at first—but then the eagle let go.

The tortoise plummeted through the air, terrified, and crashed to the ground with a loud thud.

Bruised and shaken, he realized,
“I am a tortoise, not an eagle. I was trying to be someone I’m not.”
